2 Week The San Pedro Festival of the Arts Dance Applications OPEN

The San Pedro Festival of the Arts is a free family event, in the past featuring Dance, Music & Visual Arts/Crafts Booths. This year, our 16th, we approach it similar to last years- live, but also a film division. The festival was again awarded a Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Los Angeles Festival Grant. We are relocating parks as the one from last year is unavailable, so more details to come. We will be recording performances to share on the internet and all performances will be live and free to the public, but with restricted audiences unless the Pandemic disappears. There is pay for professional companies as in the past.
We are interested in all dance forms performed by professional companies (usually about 20 selected, but was 28 last year) including traditional ballet and modern as well as ethnic dance forms, tap, fusion, jazz, and hip-hop. Each day also includes 2-3 pre-professional companies or schools.

Honorarium for all professional companies selected.

Professional companies- length- 10 to 20 minutes Pre-professional/ community- under 10 minutes.
We always receive many more applications than there is room for, so if you were not selected in the past, please try again, perhaps with a different piece.
There is always great diversity in the programming. To apply:
1-  email [email protected] what you would like to perform with theme and music with a video link or video outline (if not yet performed), including a digital press packet, a projected length if not finished, and contact info.
Please include if you already have that work on video with dancer and music rights cleared. This year is live, but we may have a virtual component again.
2-  include an application fee of $30 (before July 5) Early Deadline
2a- include an application fee of $35 (between July 6- July 15) Final Deadline
3-  to pay, go to our website, https://lachoreographersanddancers.org/donate/ and type in the amount in Pay Pal. Attach your company name and "Festival".
