Psychopomp Dance presents NAMES , a dance theater adaptation of the Exodus Story. Inspired by the biblical story of Shemot, or the Exodus story, NAMES is an exhilarating dance theater work performed by five eclectic dance artists exploring how our own ancestral experiences of bondage, freedom and redemption continue to shape our present day lives. Taking inspiration from the Rabbinic belief that each year during Passover we ourselves must feel we were the ones brought out of slavery from Egypt, this work transports the audience into a liminal space and brings to life an ancient and intrinsic story by utilizing excitingly acrobatic and highly narrative dance in addition to the usage of scenic and prop elements. Everyone is welcome attend Shabbat Services which begin at 630PM, follow this link for more information on Temple Akiba Shabbat Services: https://www.templeakiba.net/main-calendar
